This is history told honestly, without filters, from the people who were there. You'll start at the Yellow Fortress, one of the best viewpoints in the city. Before diving into the war, your guide will give you a feel for Sarajevo's layout and explain how its geography turned it into a trap, a city surrounded on all sides for nearly four years. From there, the tour moves through the city centre to Markale Market, site of two devastating wartime massacres, and the Memorial for the Children of Sarajevo, one of the most quietly powerful stops of the day. The route follows Sniper Alley, past the Holiday Inn where war correspondents broadcast live, all the way to the Tunnel of Hope Museum, where you can walk through a section of the underground passage that kept the city alive during the siege. You'll also visit the Wings of Freedom monument to the fallen Bosnian Army soldiers. It's located on one of the most violent battlefields above the city where the original trenches could still be seen.
